Low Residence

Santa Barbara Graduate Institute offers a variety of graduate programs within two low residence formats, the Monthly Programs and the Professional Specialty Programs.

Monthly Programs - Academic Calendar

SBGI offers low residence programs that bring students to campus one weekend per month. Students and faculty travel from many parts of the US to participate in this meaningful learning community. Online forums help students stay connected between class meetings.

Students wishing to incorporate a specialty in Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology complete all specialty classes online. In addition, students are on campus in Santa Barbara for two one-week sessions per year for core (COR) courses. The balance of coursework is online.

Students wishing to incorporate a specialty in Somatic Psychology receive graduate credit while completing an approved training program, such as the Esalen Somatic Certificate Program or Somatic Experiencing. In addition, students are on campus in Santa Barbara for two one-week sessions per year for core (COR) courses. The balance of course work is online.
